How to Install Your Home Screen

Installing your new Windows Mobile Home Screen(s) from WindowsMobileHomeScreens.com is easy to do with Active Sync. Once you have this software installed on your PC the entire process should take less than 30 seconds to complete.

Active Sync is a free program from Microsoft that allows you to synchronize your mobile phone with your PC, Outlook, contacts, etc. Many mobile phones come with a disc with Active Sync on it that you can install on your PC. If you need to download it you can get it for free here.

Once you have installed ActiveSync on your PC, simply connect your phone to your Windows Mobile PC (typically with a USB cable).

Click the "Explore" button in ActiveSync. Then click on "My Windows Mobile-Based Device".

Then click "Application Data" and then click "Home".

Next, transfer the new Home Screens to your device. To do this open a separate window, navigate to where you downloaded your new home screens. Unzip them and transfer the two files to the "Home" folder. You may simply drag and drop them and they will be transferred to your phone. One will be named similar to picture.jpg and the other picture.home.xml. Be sure to transfer both (2 files) for each new home screen.

Next, disconnect your phone and click Start, then Settings, then Home Screen. Under "Home Screen Layout" select the new home screen you wish to display. Make sure the settings for "Color Scheme" and "Background Image" are both set to "Default". Click the "Done" button and the home button and the next time your home screen is displayed your new home screen will be displayed.

That's all there is to it. Enjoy your new Windows Mobile Home Screens!
